Vineyard rows at dawn, Temecula Valley

Our story

We don't just make wine here. We live here.

Boyer Ranch has been our family's home since 1979. Reliant Vineyard is the latest chapter in over 40 years of farming this land.

Blaine & Margee started Boyer Ranch in 1979.

We have 18 acres in the foothills on the west side of Temecula, overlooking the city. Over the past 40+ years we've grown organic avocados, lemons, and persimmons — and in 2017, we planted our first wine grapes.

In 2017, we put in 2 acres of 2-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel vines, and Reliant Vineyard was born. In 2020 we released our first commercial vintage.

Family made

Every bottle is hand-harvested and made with love and the help of our family.

Small batch, always

We don't scale for volume. Each wine goes through a year in stainless, then a minimum of a year in 30-gallon oak barrels, then another year or more in the bottle before release.

This specific land

Our rocky loam soils on the west-side hilltop set us apart from the sandy valley floor. Combined with the afternoon coastal breezes, they give our reds their bold, distinctive character.

Life on the ranch

18 acres overlooking Temecula.

We sit in the western foothills — elevated above the valley floor, with a beautiful view of the city below. Every afternoon in summer, coastal breezes roll in off the Pacific and cool the vines down. That diurnal swing is what gives our reds their structure.

Our rocky loam soils are a world apart from the sandy soils in the valley. They stress the vines just enough to concentrate flavor, and they drain well enough to keep the roots reaching deep. This land has been teaching us something new every season for over 40 years.

How we work

Patience is the only shortcut.

We hand-harvest every cluster. The wine spends a year in stainless steel, then moves into 30-gallon oak barrels for at least another year — sometimes longer, depending on the vintage. After bottling, it rests for a year or more before it ever leaves our certified organic vineyard.

That's a minimum of three years from harvest to release. We don't rush it. The wine tells us when it's ready.
